Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust are actively recruiting for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant (Fixed Term 6 months). We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and innovative individual to join our therapy department at King George Hospital. Working in a fast paced environment, you will have the opportunity to offer admin and clinical support to our therapists in the frailty team. As a Band 3 Therapy Assistant you will have the opportunity to build a strong set of skills such as carrying out therapy programmes as directed by the therapist, ordering equipment and assisting in home assessments. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, some experience in direct patient care and an awareness of the role of therapy within the trust. We have a strong commitment to continuing development with an established in service training programme. You will be well supported by experienced therapists.In line with the Government agenda for the NHS, we provide skilled routine, and some non-routine, clinical and non-clinical support to the rehabilitation team, this includes Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.The state registered therapist will at all times remain responsible for the following:Primary assessment of the patientReferral for treatmentClinical discharge of the patientSetting the primary clinical treatment plan and monitoring the progression of the patientOverseeing the clinical quality and ensuring appropriateness of the treatment practiced on the patientResponsibilities

Provide administrative and clinical support to the frailty therapy team as directed by the therapistsCarry out therapy programmes as directed by the therapistOrder equipment and assist in home assessmentsMaintain effective communication with patients and the multi-disciplinary teamSupport service development and participate in in-service trainingWork weekends as required (subject to service needs)Qualifications and requirements
