As a
Mental Health Nurse , you will:Provide
care and rehabilitation
for mental health patientsDevelop
individualised support plans
tailored to each patientArrange
ongoing, long-term support
for patients leaving careBuild
trusting relationships
with patients to put them at easeOffer
advice and reassurance
through active listeningWork closely with
other mental healthcare professionals
to determine the best treatment plansSupport
relatives and carers
with advice and guidanceMaintain
up-to-date medical recordsPerform
physical health checks
such as vital statistics monitoring and blood testsAdminister
medications
as requiredPromote
mental health initiatives
and reduce the stigma surrounding mental healthStay up to date with
mental health best practices
and latest theoriesGeneral Key Skills
In addition to your qualifications, you should have:Strong
understanding of mental health conditions, symptoms, and treatmentsExcellent communication and listening skillsEmpathy and understandingOrganisational and time management skillsResilience and ability to maintain emotional distanceAbility to work effectively as part of a wider teamA
genuine passion for improving people’s lives and wellbeingQualifications and Requirements
Essential:Registered Nurse (RMN qualification)At least 2 years post-graduate experience6 months recent NHS experience
(within the last 3 years)Enhanced background check clearanceCulture and Inclusion
