Job Title: Housing Officer

A Local Authority in London is seeking a Housing Officer to support the effective management of residential housing across the borough. This is an initial 6-month contract, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in housing management, tenancy support, or estate services within an urban environment.

About the Role

You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality housing management service to a diverse community, ensuring tenants are supported and properties are well maintained. Acting as a main point of contact for residents, you will manage tenancy-related matters, address day-to-day housing issues, and work closely with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of residential properties across the borough
• Acting as the primary point of contact for tenants and residents
• Supporting tenancy management, including sign-ups, changes, and sustainment
• Conducting regular estate inspections and tenancy visits
• Handling anti-social behaviour cases and resolving tenant disputes
• Liaising with repairs teams, contractors, and support services
• Ensuring properties and communal areas are maintained to a high standard
• Promoting a safe, clean, and positive living environment

About You

The council is looking to hear from candidates who have:

• Experience working in housing management, tenancy support, or housing officer roles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities
• A proactive and tenant-focused approach
• Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour and complex tenancy issues
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies
• Knowledge of housing legislation and best practices (desirable)
