EOC Clinical Team Leader (Bristol)

OverviewThe Clinical Team Leader is a highly visible and accountable leadership position within the Trust and a key part of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Leadership Team. The role is accountable for the day-to-day delivery of clinical services and clinical operations within the EOCs, with a focus on leadership and management of the Clinical Team in Bristol.
The Clinical Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, including paramedics, nurses, EOC doctors and other allied health professionals within the EOC’s employ. The role requires maintaining competency in all Clinical Team workstreams and audits, with the ability to support front-line delivery when necessary or when requested by the EOC Senior Leadership Team or command tier. The post holder should act as a point of advice and escalation for EOC clinicians and be an expert in remote clinical triage.
Responsibilities
Maintain a consistent focus on operational performance and delivery of contracted activity (such as Hear and Treat activity).
Maintain high standards of performance, delivery and adherence to processes and policy.
Foster a culture of inclusivity and support within the EOC, actively challenging and addressing issues as required and ensuring a performance- and patient-care-focused environment.
Be accountable to the Deputy Head of EOC (Clinical Ops and Safety); act as a role model, demonstrating integrity and professionalism at all times.
When on duty, be accountable for day-to-day management of the EOC Clinical Team, including staff wellbeing, clinical operational delivery, performance and patient safety.
Be the focal point for management of clinical operational delivery within the EOC, ensuring the workforce acts in the best interests of patients and understands measures for a high-performing, safe delivery model.
Oversee safe clinical management of the patient waiting stack and allocate clinical resources in response to changing risk profiles.
Maintain clinical triage and clinical audit skills, contributing to monthly audits of team members and delivering high performance in line with established triage tools and Trust Policy.
Provide clinical support to team members requiring guidance or advice.
Role requirements
Ability to support the Senior EOC Leadership team and contribute to the operational delivery of clinical services across the EOC.
Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary clinical team and coordinating clinical operations in an urgent or emergency care setting.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Commitment to patient safety, high professional standards and evidence-based practice.
