Responsibilities

Contribute to the Neonatal service including neonatal service weeks, on calls and Neonatal Cardiology and Baby Clinics.Take part in education, training and supervision of Neonatal Junior Doctors and ANNPs.Perform an appropriate lead role to support the Neonatal Service.Demonstrate a firm commitment to the principles of clinical governance.Develop Neonatal Cardiology expertise, to support the existing Neonatal Cardiology service.Understand and participate in the 24/7 neonatal cover arrangements, with dedicated medical cover at all levels (Tiers 1, 2 and 3) and daily consultant on-site coverage to ensure 24-hour cover.Service model and on-call arrangements

The Neonatal Unit has dedicated medical cover at all levels (Tiers 1, 2 and 3) and at all times 24/7. Neonatal consultants provide exclusive cover for the neonatal unit on a daily basis. This ensures 24 hour cover as follows:A ''Hot-week'' consultant covers ITU/HDU 08:30–17:30 (Weekdays, Monday to Friday) with ''on call'' provision thereafter.Second ''LDU/TC Service'' consultant covers LDU/TC 08:30–14:30 (Weekdays, Monday to Friday).Weekends are split into Friday/Sunday and Saturday: consultant on site 08:30–14:30 with ''on call'' provision thereafter.Qualifications

Applications are welcomed from candidates who have MRCPCH (or equivalent) and who are on the General Medical Council''s Specialist Register in Paediatrics or Neonates, or who will be within six months of obtaining their CCT at the time of interview.CESR applicants must be on the specialist register at the point of application.Clinical training and experience equivalent to at least 12 months middle grade training in a designated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or completion of the Special Interest (SPIN) module in Neonates.Experience in echocardiography with an interest in developing Neonatal Cardiology expertise.About SWB Trust and values
