My client, a leading energy provider, is seeking a

Senior External Communications Manager

to support the Head of External Communications in building the organisation’s reputation with political, media, and industry stakeholders.This is a high-profile role that will shape how the organisation is perceived across Westminster, Whitehall, and the UK energy industry - positioning it as a leading voice in the energy transition.Key Responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of an external communications strategy covering

public affairs, media, and digital channelsBuild and maintain relationships across

Westminster, Whitehall, Parliament, government, and media stakeholdersOversee and quality-assure submissions to

government consultations and parliamentary committeesDraft

briefings, speeches, and opinion pieces

for senior leadersManage day-to-day media enquiries, press releases, journalist briefings, and OpEdsSupport digital and social media activity, including optimisation of the corporate websiteDeputise for the Head of External Communications when requiredThe ideal candidate will bring

Strong political and media networks, with proven ability to influence at senior levelsExperience working with

Westminster and Whitehall stakeholders , with knowledge of parliamentary and political processesBackground in

media engagement

(press office or corporate communications)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to distil complex issues into compelling messagesExperience within the

energy, water, or other regulated sectors
