Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of a new service model that is working in partnership with local services to meet the needs of those presenting with complex mental health needs together?Telford and Wrekin Community Mental Health service provide assessment and evidence based interventions for people who are presenting with complex mental health difficulties that are significantly impacting on their daily life alongside our partner organisations.This is a permanent full-time (10 PAs) post in General Adult Psychiatry. The emphasis is to provide timely and comprehensive assessment, interventions and treatment to service users and their families/carers, whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team format.We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with the interest in providing strong medical leadership as the post involves providing clinical leadership to the team as part of a collective leadership structure, which shares responsibility for ensuring that the care delivered by the service is safe and of a high quality standard.Main duties of the job
This post enables dedicated Consultant input into one of our five Integrated Community Mental Services (CMHS) that are based across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. You will be expected to provide community care and treatment, with the facility for assessment of referred service users, flexible review of complex service users and timely discharge in liaison with General Practitioners. Service Users will present with a range of mental health difficulties and need.The role is aligned to the Telford and Wrekin CMHS, which comprises of four PCNs. This service in total has 4.2 Adult Consultants and 2 Older Adult Consultants. The post is aligned to cover 1 of the PCNs (Wrekin PCN).The role involves providing clinical leadership to the team as part of a collective leadership structure, and providing support and supervision as required to Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Non-Medical Prescribers. The post holder will have responsibility to supervise a trainee attached to the team, although as with any training post this is subject to trainee availability. Opportunities are also available in the Trust to participate in postgraduate and undergraduate education for Junior Doctors and medical students from Keele Medical School.About us

Qualifications
Medical DegreeMRC Psych or equivalentEligible for inclusion on the specialist register (senior trainees must be within six months of CCT at the point of interview)Speciality TrainingClinical and Professional Competence
Experience in General Adult Psychiatry at ST 4 -6 level or equivalent senior level in a variety of settings including in-patient and communityAwareness of current guidelines for the assessment and treatment of mental disorderEligibility for Approved Clinician status and knowledge of the Mental Capacity ActDisclosure and Barring Service Check
