A welcoming primary school in Amersham is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality classroom support across the whole class.
Weandrsquo;re looking for someone who is positive, adaptable, and passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment. Youandrsquo;ll work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of all pupils, helping ensure every child feels encouraged, engaged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
About the Role:
- Provide tailored support to students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, under the guidance of class teachers and the SENCO
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to support student development
- Encourage independence, self-confidence, and communication skills in all learners
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH needs, or speech and language difficulties
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience andmdash; and ideally, a good sense of humour
- Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally
- Be flexible and responsive to the individual needs of pupils
- Hold relevant classroom support qualifications (desirable but not essential)
