This role combines hands-on warehouse management with strategic inventory planning and team leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations and Technician Support: Morning Leadership – Be present during technician arrival times to provide guidance, address material needs, and ensure smooth daily operationsMaterial Preparation: Coordinate with technicians to ensure proper materials and parts are available for scheduled jobsProblem Resolution: Quickly address any material shortages or equipment issues that could impact field operations
Procurement and Inventory Management
Purchase Orders: Place material orders with vendors, negotiating pricing and delivery schedulesParts Research: Research and source specialized parts and equipment as needed throughout the dayInventory Systems: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive inventory tracking systems for both warehouse stock and truck inventoryStock Optimization: Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while preventing stockouts
Strategic Planning and Performance Management
KPI Development: Collaborate with management to establish key performance indicators for material handling and warehouse efficiencyPerformance Tracking: Monitor and report on warehouse metrics including inventory turnover, order accuracy, and cost managementProfitability Analysis: Track material costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability through better sourcing and inventory managementFuture Supervision: Prepare for and eventually supervise parts runner personnel as the company growsTraining and Development: Develop training protocols for warehouse procedures and safety standardsCross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with service technicians, office staff, and management to optimize operations
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate''s degree preferred3+ years of warehouse or inventory management experienceExperience with inventory management software and systemsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in warehouse environmentValid driver''s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in HVAC, plumbing, or construction materialsExperience with procurement and vendor managementKnowledge of inventory control best practicesSupervisory or leadership experienceFamiliarity with KPI development and performance metricsTechnical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic warehouse equipmentLeadership: Ability to motivate and guide team members, with morning presence crucial for technician supportProblem-Solving: Quick thinking and resourcefulness to resolve material and logistics challengesAttention to Detail: Accuracy in inventory tracking, order processing, and record keepingCommunication: Clear verbal and written communication with technicians, vendors, and managementTime Management: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse for extended periodsCapability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 poundsComfortable working in varying temperatures and warehouse conditionsAbility to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts (certification preferred)This position offers significant growth potential within our expanding organization.
