Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: -27,000 - -35,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role:
You''ll be responsible for supporting the safety, upkeep, and daily operations of the school site. Working closely with the Estates or Facilities Manager, you''ll help maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring a clean, secure, and well-functioning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Core Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day site maintenance, repairs, and inspections
- General upkeep of grounds, classrooms, and communal spaces
- Supporting school events and room setups
- Ensuring site security and responding to alarms or emergencies
- Maintaining safe working practices in line with school safeguarding and H&S procedures
What We''re Looking For:
- Experience in a caretaking or facilities-based role (school experience desirable)
- Strong practical/DIY skills (painting, small repairs, basic plumbing, etc.)
- A proactive, hands-on approach and strong sense of responsibility
- Good understanding of health & safety in a working environment
Desirable:
- Confidence overseeing compliance tasks (fire safety, water checks, H&S checks)
- Experience liaising with contractors or external maintenance teams
- Ability to assist in planning maintenance projects
- Familiarity with record-keeping systems or digital compliance logs
