Electrical Project Engineer – London – 12 Month Contract – £400 - £450 per day DOE
We’re partnering with a well-established M&E contractor seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to work on a 12 month rail project based in Central London.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the team to review the project estimate or tender, ensuring a full understanding of the project's scope, requirements, risks, and deliverables as outlined by the client.
- Planning and allocating the appropriate resources to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
- Sharing all relevant project information-including contract terms, specifications, technical drawings, and company policies-with the delivery team to support smooth execution.
- Leading, supporting, and developing the team throughout the project, maintaining high morale and positive working relationships across all levels.
- Building and maintaining strong, cooperative relationships with the client, ensuring clear understanding of our construction responsibilities and seeking opportunities for contract growth.
- Overseeing the timely and accurate production of engineering, installation, and design documentation, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, client standards, and statutory requirements.
- Managing procurement, materials, and cost control processes effectively, contributing to up-to-date schedules and financial reports for management.
- Ensuring that installation, testing, and commissioning activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards, the installation plan, and client expectations.
- Preparing and submitting accurate weekly and monthly progress and productivity updates in line with company reporting procedures.
- Supporting internal safety, quality, and financial audits, helping implement improvements and resolving any identified issues.
- Providing clear, data-backed feedback on project performance compared to initial estimates, to support future tendering efforts.
Requirements
- A solid background in electrical engineering, ideally with experience in rail-related projects.
- A degree in a relevant field is preferred, though a minimum of an ONC (or equivalent experience) is required.
- Proven experience in a management role within the construction or support services industries, along with a strong grasp of technical aspects and developments in the rail and cabling sectors.
- A valid CSCS card.
- Hands-on experience with traction power supply systems, especially within the London Underground or wider rail network.
