Mechanical Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical building services on a major commercial construction project. The successful candidate will oversee the project from pre construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Mechanical Project Manager-Key Responsibilities

• Manage all mechanical aspects of the project lifecycle from design coordination to final handover
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams
• Monitor project progress against programme and budget targets
• Lead procurement of mechanical equipment and subcontract packages
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports
• Manage commissioning activities and close out documentation
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout project delivery

Mechanical Project Manager Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within commercial construction or MEP projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework, plumbing, and mechanical building services systems
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience
• Relevant mechanical engineering or building services qualification preferred
• SMSTS / CSCS certification desirable
