This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment and facilities in a high-pressure die casting environment producing medium to large aluminium automotive components.Key Responsibilities: Ensure all equipment meets availability targets and supports production demand. Conduct root cause analysis of major or recurring breakdowns and propose long-term solutions. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate repeat faults. Carry out preventative maintenance (PM) and suggest enhancements to PM schedules. Support internal departments with technical queries and non-breakdown issues. Maintain adherence to all health, safety, and environmental procedures during maintenance activities. Drive quality improvements through equipment reliability and performance. Apply and promote 5S workplace organisation standards across the site. Assist with ad hoc engineering projects as required by the leadership team. Required Skills and Experience: Essential: Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent. Minimum City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a related discipline.
