BuyerLocation: ShrewsburyHours: Monday Friday Up to £39,000 per annum Orion is hiring a proactive, detail driven Buyer to keep fast moving manufacturing lines supplied with the right electro-mechanical components from metalwork and electronics to specialist electrical items.If you enjoy solving problems at speed and staying calm under pressure, this role is for you.Key Responsibilities of this Buyer position:Own the purchasing cycle: source quotes, evaluate suppliers, and raise POs fast.Protect uptime: monitor delivery schedules and prevent production delays.Guard quality: ensure materials meet strict specification and compliance standards.Fix issues early: resolve pricing errors, late deliveries, and non-conformance quickly.Chase and expedite track shipments and follow up proactively with suppliers.Stay audit ready: keep POs, files, and records organised for full traceabilityExperience and Requirements of this Buyer position:Minimum 5 years experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within engineering or manufacturing.Confident negotiation skills and clear, professional communication.Hands on experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems.Electromechanical purchasing experience (highly desirable).Sharp attention to detail with a collaborative, solutions first mindset.Calm, composed, and effective when working under pressure.Thank you for your application.
