Our consultancy client is seeking a Principal Wastewater Modeller to join their Water division on a permanent basis out of Leeds or London offices with hybrid/remote working available.

Our client, a leading consultancy within the UK water industry, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join their growing team. With over 8 years'' experience in wastewater network modelling, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic team of 6 hydraulic modellers, some of whom are based in Europe.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of modelling activities for major UK water industry projects, with initial project work focused on sewer overflow projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate wastewater hydraulic modelling activities for major UK water infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 6 modellers, providing technical guidance, training, and support.
  • Act as the technical lead for hydraulic modelling, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and efficient outputs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Oversee model build, verification, and analysis using Infoworks ICM.
  • Provide technical input into feasibility studies, option appraisals, and solution development.
  • Contribute to best practice development and continuous improvement of modelling standards and processes.

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • 8+ years'' experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling within the UK water industry ideally
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing hydraulic modellers.
  • Proficiency in Infoworks ICM is essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Experience working on sewer overflow projects (or similar wastewater network projects) an advantage
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Relevant engineering degree (Civil, Environmental, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
