Simply Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist ASD school in Alsager to join them on a long term basis. . The school is committed to creating a supportive, structured, and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive both academically and socially. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SEN specialists, and support staff to provide a nurturing and structured learning environment. The school delivers a personalised curriculum designed to meet the diverse needs of pupils with ASD, including communication and sensory needs.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant will include:

• Supporting pupils with ASD to access learning through adapted and personalised curriculum approaches
• Building positive, consistent relationships to support communication and emotional regulation
• Assisting with structured routines and visual supports to aid understanding and independence
• Supporting 1:1 and small group activities focused on academic, social, and life skills development
• Implementing strategies such as PECS, visual timetables, and sensory support (training can be provided)
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils through calm, consistent approaches
• Assisting with transitions throughout the school day to ensure pupils feel secure and supported

What We''re Looking For

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

• Holds a Teaching Assistant Qualification (Level 1, 2, or 3 - desirable but not essential)
• Has an interest in or experience working with children with ASD or special educational needs
• Understands the importance of structure, routine, and communication strategies
• Is patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships
• Can remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment
• Is committed to ongoing professional development and learning
