BAM UK and Ireland .BAM Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our ASTI onshore team, with projects scheduled to run until 2030. You will contribute to the delivery of large-scale civil engineering projects that provide critical infrastructure to support future renewable developments across Scotland. The successful candidate will initially be based in our Inverness office, before moving to a site office near Drumnadrochit (close to Inverness).Your mission
Managing diverse projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, with an emphasis on adding valueCollaborating in joint venture projects, building productive relationshipsExcelling in contract negotiation for optimized project profitabilityMentoring teams and enhancing operational capabilitiesShowcasing exceptional collaboration and communication skillsExcelling in multitasking to meet deliverables without compromising qualityManage, supervise and mentor your “reports” within the commercial structureProvide and control strategy of commercial contacts with client’s representativesProvide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documentsCommercial management of subcontractorsMonitor the timely production of reliable cost performance dataProduce and present monthly / quarterly reportsBe responsible for the timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contractProviding commercial advice to the site team, and management on all contractual issuesProduce the financial assessment of insurance claims with insurer’s representativesWho are we looking for?
Necessary
Successful experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or at Quantity Surveyor level looking to take the next step in your career, demonstrating effective core commercial skillsExperience of NEC forms of contractDemonstrable ability to mentor and coach direct reportsAbility to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the project team including the Client, Project Managers and DesignersHave the confidence and ability to work within a team environment, and to have a positive influence on outcomesRelevant qualification (Degree, HNC/D)Advantageous
