Community Support Worker

About The RoleA community support worker is exactly what it means, you will provide support to people within the community in their home. You will not be set to just once service. You will visit a number of people within your daily route. Support sessions can be as little as 1 hour up to 3 hours per person. The role is very varied dependent on individual needs. This can include job searching, household management, tenancy related support, support with finances and budgeting, shopping and diet, relationships and emotional support. No two days are the same so if you like working with challenges and are confident in your ability to manage new and differing situations then this is the role for you.
HoursFull time position: 39 hours spread between 5-5.5 days a week
Part time position: 21 hours spread between 3-4 days a week
Supports sessions can be as little as 1 hour up to 4-5 hours per person.
Support hours are generally anything between 8.30am - 18.00pm.
We are also looking to build on our team on bank workers.
LocationThis role will require travel across the Lewisham and Bromley area.
About YouYou must be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude towards supporting people with learning disabilities/ physical disabilities/mental health issues and autism to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
Good communication skills (both written and oral), including listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the people we support using a variety of different methods as required.
You must be ambitious for the people we support and willing to support them in whatever activities they choose to do.
