Job Title: CNC Miller – Setter / Operator

Salary: £15 – £18 per hour (Negotiable DOE)

Overview:

We’re recruiting for a skilled CNC Miller - Setter/Operator to join a well-established precision engineering company. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to work with Hurco machines using WinMax controls, with potential training in programming for the right candidate.

You’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines independently, ensuring high-quality parts are produced to specification. If you’re confident reading technical drawings and enjoy working in a clean, flexible workshop environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines (Hurco with WinMax control)

• Interpret and work from technical engineering drawings and job specifications

• Perform quality checks to ensure work meets required standards

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

• Work closely with colleagues to meet production targets

Requirements:

Essential:

• Proven experience in CNC milling (setting and operating)

• Confident working independently on machines

• Strong understanding of technical drawings and tolerances

• Experience using inspection/measuring tools

• Good communication and teamworking skills

Desirable:

• Programming experience (especially with WinMax, G-code, or CAD/CAM)

• Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems

• Willingness to train and develop programming skills

What’s on Offer:

• Competitive hourly rate (£15–£18 per hour, DOE)

• 39 hours per week (standard start between 6am–5pm, early finish Fridays at 3pm)

• Paid 20-minute break daily

• Overtime paid at time and a half (not mandatory)

• 24 days holiday rising to 27 with service, plus bank holidays
