Commercial Manager - Transmission & Renewables (Freelance / Temp to Perm)

Location: Caldicot (South Wales) + regional travel
Rate: -(Apply online only) p/d (negotiable)
Engagement: Umbrella PAYE / CIS (Potentially Outside IR35/Ltd - subject to full QDOS assessment)
Duration: Up to 5 months (Temp to Perm opportunity)
Start: ASAP
Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: Hybrid (site + office + WFH depending on project needs)

About the Role
TRIbuild Solutions are recruiting a Commercial Manager to support a major Transmission & Renewables portfolio across South Wales and the South West. This role will oversee multiple projects within the energy infrastructure sector, including substation works up to 400kV.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy and delivery across multiple projects
• Manage and mentor commercial teams (MQS, SQS, QS, AQS)
• Drive CVR reporting, forecasting and cashflow performance
• Lead tender reviews, risk identification and opportunity management
• Ensure contractual compliance (NEC3/NEC4, JCT, FIDIC)
• Build strong client and supply chain relationships
• Support procurement and dispute resolution
• Collaborate with project and finance teams to optimise performance

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or similar leadership role
• Strong background in infrastructure, utilities or energy projects
• Experience working on National Grid / substation projects (desirable)
• Expert knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC4 Option E highly desirable)
• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
• Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
