Policy and Public Affairs Manager for the Royal Entomological Society (RES). London / Flexible (with some UK and international travel).Do you want to put science at the heart of decision-making? The Royal Entomological Society (RES) is on an ambitious journey with their 2025–2028 strategy, and are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Manager to help them become a go-to voice for insect science in the UK and beyond.In this pivotal role, you’ll lead on policy development, craft evidence-based positions, and engage with decision-makers to ensure insect science informs government policy. You’ll manage the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pollinators and Invertebrates, draft impactful consultation responses, and build key relationships across Westminster and the devolved administrations to amplify the voice of RES members and researchers.What you’ll do
Develop evidence-based policy positions and responses to consultationsEngage with Ministers, Civil Servants and Parliamentarians across the UKManage the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pollinators and InvertebratesLead the Society’s parliamentary events and stakeholder engagementProduce policy briefings, reports and newsletters to drive impactWhat we’re looking for
Proven experience in policy development and public affairs, ideally within science or environmentStrong understanding of UK political systems and influencing levers across all four nationsStrategic thinker with strong relationship-building skillsExperience working with All-Party Parliamentary Groups (desirable)Why join the RES?
