Your new role
As a key member of the management team, you will lead a dedicated group of officers delivering high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services. You will be responsible for ensuring statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 are met, while supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the region.
This is a pivotal role where you will:
- Supervise and support a team of five full-time Housing Officers, each managing approximately 40 cases.
- Monitor operational quality assurance standards and ensure compliance with legislation and company policy.
- Lead on complex case assessments, statutory reviews, and responses to public and elected member enquiries.
- Work closely with internal departments and external partners to deliver holistic housing solutions.
- Contribute to service development and performance improvement initiatives.
You will have the option of Hybrid Working with a minimum of 2 days in the office. The salary is -39,500 - -42,700 per annum depending on experience.
What you''ll need to succeed
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent (e.g. NVQ Level 4) or significant relevant experience.- Proven experience in frontline housing advice or homelessness services.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and statutory duties, including safeguarding and equalities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies to resolve complex housing issues.
