This London-based role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with remote flexibility depending on operational needs.The GETS platform is built primarily in Java and leverages low-latency messaging and in-memory database technologies. The role involves a blend of development and support responsibilities, including diagnosing production issues, implementing bug fixes, and enhancing the platform using both Java and a proprietary workflow/reporting framework. Collaboration with a global team to evolve the core framework and introduce new features is a key aspect of this position.Candidates should bring strong analytical skills, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and familiarity with agile development practices. Prior experience in equities trading workflows and platforms such as Fidessa ETP and/or CTAC is highly desirable.Responsibilities
Design and implement new workflows using a proprietary Java-based frameworkDevelop and maintain reporting features within the same frameworkCollaborate with global development teams to enhance platform capabilitiesDeliver permanent fixes for identified issuesBuild, test, and deploy software across Dev, QA, Production, and DR environmentsContribute to SDLC automation using tools such as JIRA, Bamboo, and AnsibleQualifications and Experience
Strong proficiency in Java; experience with Spring, Hibernate, and Apache Ignite is a plusSkilled in writing complex SQL queriesFamiliarity with Fidessa Equities platforms (ETP/CTAC) is advantageousExperience with Unix/Linux command-line and basic scripting preferredUnderstanding of FIX protocol is beneficialBackground in third-line support for equity trading systems is desirableAdditional Skills
