Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Defence Project Manager to deliver complex and mission-critical projects within the defence sector. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-profile programmes across the full project lifecycle, from strategic planning through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking progress and mitigating risks.
• Manage project budgets, conduct forecasting, and ensure commercial viability.
• Conduct risk assessments and escalate issues proactively.
• Oversee contract deliverables and coordinate with subcontractors and SMEs.
• Chair project meetings and produce accurate reports.
• Support bid and proposal development, including scoping, costing, and resource planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with defence customers and stakeholders.
• Mentor and support project team members, promoting best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven track record managing medium-scale engineering or defence programmes.
• Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with structured methodologies (PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP).
• Experience managing third-party contractors and stakeholders in a defence or government environment.
• Proficiency in project scheduling, risk management, and financial tracking tools.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
