Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Teacher of Science, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
- Deliver A-Level teaching in your science specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), guiding students to achieve their full potential at this advanced level.
- Inspire students to develop a strong understanding and passion for scientific principles and methodologies.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering an inquiry-based approach.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and contributing to student reports.
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental resources.
- Participate in and lead extracurricular science activities, enriching the learning experience for students.
- Act as a form tutor and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.
What We''re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Proven experience teaching Science successfully across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential.
- Demonstrable experience teaching your science specialism effectively at A-Level is crucial.
- A genuine passion for science and a commitment to inspiring the next generation of scientists.
- Excellent subject knowledge across the science curriculum, with the ability to teach all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and GCSE, and your specialism at A-Level.
- A dynamic, adaptable, and innovative teaching style.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
