We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on a major water infrastructure project. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team delivering critical improvements to the UK’s water and wastewater networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage, and execute commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and process systems related to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of pumps, valves, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Ensure all commissioning activities meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Produce commissioning documentation, including ITPs, test reports, and O&M handover documents.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, project managers, and client representatives to ensure successful project delivery.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commissioning within the water sector (clean or wastewater).
• Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, control systems, and plant equipment.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g. WIMES, CDM regulations).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• CSCS
