Night Shift Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias) Southampton Location: Southampton Salary: Circa £43,000 (days while training) rising to circa £53,000 (permanent nights) About the Role We are seeking an electrically biased Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Southampton. This is a permanent night shift position, with initial training carried out on days. You will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance across a wide range of production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repair on manufacturing equipment, with a focus on electrical systems. Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, automation, and control systems. Support mechanical maintenance when required. Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure compliance with safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing/production environment. Strong electrical bias with knowledge of control panels, motors, PLCs, and fault finding. Ability to assist with mechanical maintenance as needed. Willingness to work permanent nights following training. Flexible to complete initial training on day shifts. Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe working practices.
