1:1 Academic Support – KS3 (Part-Time)

Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Part-Time (3 days per week), Fixed-Term (Minimum 12 months)

A highly respected secondary school in South Manchester, known for its outstanding achievements and inclusive ethos, is seeking a caring and committed individual to provide 1:1 academic support to a KS3 student. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting a student’s learning and confidence over an extended period.

About the Role

• Providing personalised, 1-to-1 academic support to a KS3 girl, helping her to stay engaged and make sustained progress across the curriculum

• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to adapt resources and support strategies

• Supporting the student’s independence, motivation, and wellbeing in a consistent and nurturing manner

• Contributing to a positive school experience by reinforcing classroom learning and encouraging self-belief

• Role to be carried out across three days per week, on a regular schedule

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with students in a school or education support setting (tutoring, TA, LSA, mentoring, etc.)

• Strong communication skills, patience, and a student-centred approach

• Ability to build positive relationships and encourage resilience in learners

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

• A clear understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in line with KCSIE guidance

Pay

From £90 a per day, depending on experience and qualifications
