Our client, a key player in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join their Operations team in Sunbury on Thames, SRY. This is a permanent role within the Air Technology business unit, aimed at providing manufacturing engineering expertise to support both existing and new products, and to drive forward strategic Lean initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with manufacturing cell leaders, the lean co-ordinator, and design engineering to enhance process efficienciesGenerate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Routings, and Visual Factory displaysCreate and maintain routings within the MRP systemImplement lean manufacturing methods such as one-piece flow lines and visual factory to reduce rework/scrap, throughput times, and work in progressUtilise basic improvement tools such as 5S, 7 Wastes, Visual Management, and Standardised Work to support balanced assembly linesSupport layout changes and involve facilities and maintenance teams in the processRecord and analyse production data to focus on key issues and support manufacturing cellsInitiate and lead improvement projects and capital expenditure (CAPEX) to facilitate new process and product introductionsWork with Engineering on product documentation modifications and parts obsolescenceProvide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support to ensure customer schedule adherenceLead teams to develop process Failure Mode ..... full job details .....
