Integration Engineer – BMS
to be based at our customer’s site in Gaydon.
Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses activities under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. ESS also integrates supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity to ensure ASPICE compliance and deliver reliable, secure, high-quality embedded systems and solutions.
The RoleAs an
Integration Engineer
within the BMS Functional Integration and Hardware Delivery team, you’ll bridge the gap between control systems, embedded hardware and functional validation of battery technologies. You’ll drive the integration of components such as SDU controls, CSC modules and WGM hardware across development and delivery phases to meet safety, performance and compliance targets.
Area of Responsibility
System Integration and Interfacing
Coordinate integration activities across BMS domains—SDU, CSC, and WGM
Ensure hardware-software compatibility and seamless signal interfacing
Support functional safety, electrical compatibility, and failure mode mitigation
Technical Collaboration
Interface with software, controls, mechanical, and electrical teams to resolve integration conflicts
Translate functional specifications into integrated architecture and interface documentation
Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to track design readiness and implementation status
Validation Support
Assist in planning and execution of functional and HIL testing
Monitor hardware-in-the-loop behaviors for system-level coherence
Aid in root-cause analysis of integration issues during development and deployment
Documentation and Delivery
Maintain interface control documents and integration roadmaps
Track versioning and configuration control for integrated hardware and software components
Contribute to delivery milestones by ensuring complete system integration and test-readiness
Knowledge / Experience
Experience in system integration within BMS, automotive, or power electronics
Solid understanding of BMS hardware (e.g. SDU, CSC) and embedded communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, and integration tools like CANalyzer, CANoe
Preferred Attributes
Experience in high-voltage safety systems and ISO 26262
Knowledge of battery cell behavior and thermal/electrical constraints
Detail-oriented mindset with strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
Ability to work in cross-functional agile development teams
