Assessment and Child Protection Social Worker Swindon Borough Council Up to 40 per hour Swindon Borough Council is seeking Qualified, Experienced, and Advanced Social Workers to join our busy and supportive Assessment and Child Protection Team. We are looking for practitioners dedicated to making a tangible difference at the front door of our service, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time. The Role In this dynamic environment, you will play a crucial role in the initial stages of intervention. Duty Cycle: Operating on a 5-week duty cycle, you will be on duty once every five weeks. Caseload: During your duty week, you will be allocated a caseload of children requiring statutory assessment or child protection investigation. These assessments are critical in informing the development of the child''s care plan. Pathways and Planning: Following assessment, you will determine the best route for the child. This may include on-going support from within community resources, our Family Intervention and Support Service (FISS), or implementing a Child in Need or Child Protection Plan. Transitions: A key focus of this role is ensuring smooth transitions for all children as they move between services or step down to early help. Working Pattern We offer a structured hybrid model to balance team support with flexibility: Duty Week: You are expected to be in the office 5 days a week.
