Chef de Partie

We are currently recruiting for a Chef to Partie to join us at Salisbury Cathedral.
Hours (Apply online only) 5 days out of 7 to include every other weekend.
Pay -13.50 p/h, offering a casual contract with no less than 30 hours per week.
As a chef de partie you get to oversee a section of the kitchen, in this instance pastry and deli prep. This is not an exhaustive job as you would be required to turn your hand to jobs delegated to you by the senior team.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty
- Helping the sous chef and-head chef-to develop new dishes and menus
- Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
- Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
You would also be required to assist with checking and storing deliveries in a timely and manageable manner.
At The Refectory we pride ourselves in making almost all of our dishes from scratch.
You will be working alongside the Head chef and Sous chef on a daily basis.
Occasionally you would be expected to work an evening to cater to bespoke requests from the Client and outside functions. Your hours would be amended for these occasions.
On alternate Sundays you would be required to prepare, cook and present a roast dinner to be served buffet style from the counter.
