ROLE: Design Engineer

LOCATION: Kettering

HOURS OF WORK: -Days

BASIC SALARY: 35K - -40K per annum

We are working with a well-established client who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with strong SolidWorks experience and a proven background working within a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing and improving products from concept through to production.

Your responsibilities as a Design Engineer:

• Create 3D models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks
• Develop innovative design solutions that meet customer and manufacturing requirements
• Collaborate closely with production, quality and procurement teams
• Support prototype development, testing and validation activities
• Ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability (DFM) and cost efficiency
• Maintain accurate documentation, including BOMs and technical specifications
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

To be successful as a Design Engineer you will have:

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (essential)
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, injection moulding, etc.)
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
