Location: Manchester hybrid - 4 days in office / 1 day WFH

We''re working with a highly respected, independent lifestyle and culture media business based in Manchester that is looking to add an ambitious Account Manager to its commercial team.
This role sits at the centre of client delivery and relationship management. You''ll be responsible for nurturing long-term partnerships, leading multi-channel campaigns, and ensuring clients achieve meaningful results through creative, audience-first activity. Acting as both strategic adviser and delivery lead, you''ll own the end-to-end account experience and play a key role in growing client spend over time.
A core focus of the position is identifying opportunities to extend campaigns, upsell additional activity, and secure renewals, ensuring strong commercial outcomes for both clients and the business.
The organisation works with brands closely connected to Manchester''s food, drink, arts, music, and cultural scene, so a genuine enthusiasm for the city and its independent landscape will be a real advantage.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required around events and live client activity.

The Role
As Account Manager, you will:
- Manage and develop a portfolio of key client accounts, acting as their primary contact
- Lead campaigns from briefing through to delivery, ensuring objectives and KPIs are met
- Create tailored content and media solutions aligned to client goals
- Identify opportunities to upsell, renew contracts, and grow account value
- Work closely with internal content and operations teams to ensure seamless execution
- Monitor performance, compile reports, and contribute to case studies
- Proactively resolve issues and manage expectations throughout campaign lifecycles
- Continuously suggest new ideas and approaches to improve campaign impact
About You
You''ll ideally bring:
- experience in a client-facing role within digital media, publishing, or an agency environment is highly desirable
- Strong relationship-building skills with a consultative approach to account management
- Demonstrable experience upselling services and securing repeat business
- Creative thinking combined with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- The ability to juggle multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for Manchester''s culture, events, food, drink, and independent scene
- Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend activity
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a collaborative attitude
