Design Technology Technician

We''re recruiting a Design & Technology Technician to support a busy and well-resourced department at a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead.

This role is ideal for someone hands-on, organised and confident working in a practical learning environment.

Working as a Design & Technology Technician you''ll play a key role in ensuring lessons are fully prepared, safe and engaging for students.

The role

You will:

• Prepare, set up and test materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons and assessments
• Support teaching staff and students during practical sessions
• Maintain, organise and store tools, machinery and materials
• Coordinate repairs, servicing and maintenance of equipment
• Monitor stock levels and manage ordering processes
• Keep accurate financial and inventory records
• Support the ongoing development of DT facilities

Health & Safety

You will:

• Maintain H&S records (Risk Assessments, COSHH, equipment checks, LEV, audits)
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations
• Liaise with site staff and external contractors where required
