Lead Tribunal Officer Special Needs Assessment Service £43,545 - £52,767 per annum Permanent Full Time (36 hours) Wandsworth, London This is a public facing role and home working is by agreement. Are you motivated by delivering and developing a high quality Tribunal process that makes a difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and their families? As a Lead Tribunal Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Local Authority delivers a fair, lawful and transparent response to all medium complexity SEND appeals.You will provide legal and procedural oversight for Tribunal work, support colleagues across the SEND service, and help families and professionals navigate a challenging and often complex process. You will be part of the wider SEND and Inclusion Service, working closely with the Assessment and Review Team to ensure that decision making is robust, consistent and always centred on the needs of the child or young person. About the role You will work as a key member of the SEND Assessment and Review Team, supporting the statutory processes linked to the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). A central part of your role will involve: Preparing and quality assuring evidence for SEND Tribunal appeals. Managing a caseload of appeals, particularly regarding Sections B, F and I.
