Overview
An opportunity to lead the health and safety function at a leading UK property company with a mixed-use portfolio across retail, residential, and commercial assets. This is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for ensuring compliance with UK and European legislation, driving a strong safety culture, and overseeing the performance of outsourced HandS partners. The position holds responsibility for reporting to senior stakeholders including executive and board-level leaders.Base pay range
Head of Health and Safety / Head of Health and Safety / Central London / 3 Days Per Week / Up to £110,000 + 6k car allowance + 35% bonus + benefits / London HQ with occasional travelKey Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of health and safety strategy, policies, and management systemEnsure compliance with relevant legislation including ISO 45001 and CDM regulationsOversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting processesDeliver regular reporting to executive stakeholders (weekly, quarterly, and annually)Collaborate with outsourced managing agents across the UK, Ireland, and FranceMonitor emerging legislation and lead internal HandS reviews and auditsMaintain responsibility for a wide range of risk areas, including construction projects, legacy building issues (e.g. asbestos, legionella), and public-facing environmentsSupport office-based and operational health and safety (e.g. DSE, expectant mother assessments, event and community risk reviews)Candidate Profile
Strong background in health and safety leadership in a complex or multi-site environmentNEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and up-to-date knowledge of UK and European HandS legislationComfortable working at senior stakeholder level, including board and C-suiteCapable of balancing risk with commercial decision-makingExperience working with or overseeing third-party suppliers or managing agentsConfident in developing strategy while being hands-on where requiredTravel:
