We are currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Belper. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education, who are confident managing classrooms & supporting students'' learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4. This role does not require subject-specific teaching, but you must be able to manage classroom behaviour, ensure that students remain on task, and report any issues back to the relevant staff. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

• Deliver and supervise lessons set by the class teacher across various subjects

• Maintain a focused, safe, and respectful classroom environment

• Manage behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy

• Support students with their learning and answer general questions where needed

• Complete any administrative tasks related to the cover lesson (e.g. feedback forms)

• Report any safeguarding or behaviour concerns to senior staff

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following:

• Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with young people (preferably in a secondary school or youth setting)

• Qualifications:

  • A degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential

• Skills:

  • Confident classroom presence and good behaviour management

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Adaptable and resilient approach to managing varied classroom situations

  • Professional and approachable manner

• DBS Check:
