Estimator – Construction

Pro Staff Construction are working with a residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team.

This is a key commercial role, responsible for producing accurate and robust cost plans and tender estimates, supporting margin protection, risk management, and a smooth transition from pre-construction through to delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing order of cost estimates, elemental cost plans and tender submissions

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and employer’s requirements

• Producing detailed estimates, BOQs and cost checks

• Analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and value

• Identifying scope gaps, risks, exclusions and non-compliances

• Supporting value engineering and margin optimisation

• Preparing risk and opportunity schedules

• Providing clear commercial handovers from pre-construction to delivery

• Maintaining accurate and auditable estimating records

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment

• Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement and market pricing

• Experience with cost planning (RIBA Stages 1–3) and tender estimating

• Strong commercial awareness with a risk-based mindset

• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
