Overview

A client within the Public Sector based in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer - Housing Repairs and Maintenance to join their Housing and Landlord Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing and construction health and safety environment.The Role

Key purpose of the role to ensure health and safety standards are met and maintained across the Housing and Landlord Services Repairs and Maintenance Service. The role will focus on ensuring safe working environments for staff, contractors and residents, while carrying out audits, inspections and advising on compliance with legislation and best practice.Key responsibilities

will include but not be limited to:Acting as a critical friend to delivery teams and contractors, challenging and advising on performance to ensure high safety standards.Undertaking audits and inspections of construction sites, contractor activities, and mobile workplaces (vehicles) to verify compliance with legislative requirements.Providing professional advice and assurance in relation to construction health and safety and the CDM Regulations 2015.Supporting risk management activities, including methodology, calculation, and reporting.Working collaboratively with stakeholders to promote a safe environment for tenants, staff, and contractors.The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:Demonstrable experience in a health and safety construction environment.Strong working knowledge of construction HandS legislation including CDM Regulations 2015.A full UK driving licence (essential car user role).The below skills would be beneficial for the role:Experience of audits and inspections on construction sites, contractor works, and mobile workplaces.Ability to challenge staff and contractors constructively to improve compliance and safety standards.Risk management methodology, calculation, and reporting skills.Motivated, proactive and passionate about addressing health and safety issues.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £27 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).How to Apply
