Corporate Health and Safety Manager - Local Authority Location: Hybrid (3 days on-site across council sites and schools) Contract: Rolling 3-month contract Rate: 650 per day (Umbrella)A local authority is seeking an experienced Corporate Health and Safety Manager to lead and oversee health and safety compliance across schools and council-owned buildings.You will be responsible for developing and implementing corporate health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with legislation, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain corporate health and safety policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and best practiceConduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections across council buildings and schoolsDeliver health and safety training and promote staff awarenessInvestigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and preventative measuresMaintain records and produce reports on health and safety performanceProvide advice and guidance to managers and present updates to the Corporate Leadership TeamRequirementsDegree or relevant qualification in Health and Safety or related fieldSignificant experience in health and safety managementExperience within a local authority, education, or large multi-site organisation desirableStrong knowledge of UK health and safety legislationExcellent communication, leadership, and organisational skillsWorking ArrangementsHybrid ..... full job details .....
