Followingthe retirement of one of our long standing GPs, we are seeking a newGP at our innovative GP practice now managed by the GP federation. Wechampion the doctor patient relationship and continuity of care at practicelevel, underpinned by the expertise of the federation and at scale services.Theworkplan we are seeking to fulfil is for the following 6 sessions:Monday
Duty DayTuesday and Wednesday

Job summary:The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.Clinical responsibilities:In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.*A full Job Description and Person Specification is attached to this advert*Person Specification
Qualifications
Basic medical degree and completion of GP vocational training or equivalent (JCPTGP) certificate.MRCGP.Skills and Knowledge
Excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work well within a team.IT literate.Demonstrable evidence of clinical governance activities.Knowledge of EMIS Web and other IT systems.In-depth knowledge of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF)Personal Qualities and Attributes
Ability to work under pressure.Proactive in their approach to work.Friendly and approachable.Flexibility.Able to work within agreed frameworks.Other Requirements
GMC registration including current re-validation.Registered on the Medical Performers List.Enhanced DBS clearance.Valid driving licence and insurance, including business use.Disclosure and Barring Service Check
