Part of the COO group, the Applications department is responsible for managing all front and back-office business applications. The Investment Systems Analyst is a senior member of the department whose main function is to support and manage key systems such as eXBo, eXimius, FactSet, Bloomberg, Fidessa, and Iress.Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support for investment systems users across the firm.Resolve incidents, system outages, and day-to-day functional issues efficiently.Administer and configure platforms such as eXBo, eXimius, Fidessa as required.Monitor data flows and ensure system integrity across interconnected applications.Build strong relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.Drive accountability for issue resolution, product enhancements, and service levels.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand evolving business needs.Assess new technologies or functionality and guide adoption plans.Represent the firm in vendor product working groups and advisory boards.Lead or support system upgrades, enhancements, and integration projects.Coordinate testing, rollout, and post-implementation reviews.Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and support guides.Promote consistent standards for change management and configuration control.Mentor, and act as an escalation point for more junior team members.Provide cover and support to other members of the Applications team when necessary.Support colleagues across the business.Manage or contribute to specific projects or initiatives as required.Carry out and assist with other tasks required in the department as required.Work within the regulatory and the Firm’s compliance framework.Maintain own professional competence through training and course work.Ensure that the firm’s clients and staff are always treated fairly and responsibly, with respect and consideration.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Well organised, confident, proactive, and approachable.Desire to learn and develop.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Ability to maintain required standards when working under pressure.Good attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.A reliable individual who works well within a team environment.Minimum Grade C Maths and English GCSE.A-Level or equivalent.Advantageous:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.Professional certifications e.g. CISI, ITIL, BCS etc.Experience supporting order management, portfolio management, and execution management systems.Experience support market data applications.Experience managing vendor relationships.Experience in a customer/client facing or end user support role.Experience working in Financial Services.Knowledge of Investment Management, Investment Operations, Dealing, and Compliance functions.Knowledge of FIX protocol.
