Role: Trade Counter Sales - Plumbing

Salary: Up to £32,000 plus bonus if targets hit paid quarterly

Location: South Buckinghamshire

Employment Type: Permanent / Full Time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday plus alternate Saturday morning

About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Assistant looking to join a busy branch environment. The successful individual will play a key role in supporting daily branch operations, serving customers, processing orders, and providing expert product advice while contributing to overall branch performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve both trade and retail customers at the trade counter
• Process customer orders and enquiries face-to-face and over the phone
• Recommend suitable products and solutions based on customer requirements
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
• Identify opportunities to maximise sales and support branch growth
• Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain strong product and technical knowledge across plumbing and heating supplies
• Support the branch team with general operational and day-to-day duties
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements / Skills

• Previous trade counter or plumbing merchant experience essential
• Background within plumbing, builders merchants, or trade environments preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good industry and product knowledge within plumbing and heating supplies
• Basic numeracy skills including addition and subtraction
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently when required
• Friendly, approachable, and a strong team player
• Willingness to learn, undertake training, and develop within the role
• Full UK driving licence required
