You will play a vital role in protecting public health by carrying out enforcement, inspections, investigations, and providing specialist technical advice on food hygiene, health and safety, and public health legislation. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, qualified professional who thrives in a fast-paced regulatory environment and has a strong understanding of the legal framework governing food safety and environmental health. Key Responsibilities Undertake routine food hygiene, public health, and health and safety inspections across a wide range of commercial premises. Investigate food poisoning outbreaks, infectious disease cases, and serious/fatal accidents. Enforce compliance through formal and informal action, including: Hygiene emergency prohibition notices Improvement and prohibition notices Warning letters, inspection reports, and prosecution case files Conduct food, water, and environmental sampling. Respond to service requests and complaints relating to drainage, waste, and public health nuisances.
