We recognise the power of digital and the massive contribution this brings to creating a truly unique and differentiated customer experience.As a Senior Data Scientist in the Customer and Digital Analytics team, you will investigate, define, develop and deliver innovative, solutions to complex business problems using the latest techniques.

This role will focus significantly across our digital channels, developing advanced user recognition and personalisation through the customer journey that drives increased conversion and sales value.

You will operate at all stages of the development lifecycle from idea generation to testing, implementation and ensuring business value across different business areas and markets. You will ensure that solutions are rigorously tested, deliver business value and are then optimised over their lifecycle. We expect solutions to make use of sophisticated algorithms whilst enabling high levels of decision-making transparency and user control.Please note the application closing date is Friday 5th AugustABOUT THE JOBDrive data-informed decisions by blending deep business know-how with advanced analytics and clear visualisations to surface actionable insights.Shape analytics features and strategy — segmentation, identity mapping, personalisation, NLP, attribution and campaign optimisation — sizing impact and guiding prioritisation.Scope problems and architect solutions — define requirements / success metrics, select the right statistical or ML approach, and plan rigorous testing and deployment.Build, test and refine models in collaboration with data engineering, ensuring accuracy, transparency and governed behaviour.Productionise at scale — deliver resilient, low-latency pipelines that serve millions of real-time customers while meeting security and privacy mandates.Continuously optimise and A/B/n-test recommendation and marketing capabilities to hit CTR, conversion, revenue and margin targets.Champion data science in agile teams - curate data sources, drive cross-functional delivery, communicate insights up to director level, and foster a learning community.ABOUT YOUPhD or Master’s in a quantitative field (Maths, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Marketing Analytics, Business Informatics, etc.), ideally with a data science or machine learning componentEnd-to-end ownership of personalisation and recommender systems.Building customer/behavioural segmentation, lifetime-value and propensity models.Expertise in marketing attribution, uplift modelling, funnel analysis, and churn prediction.Designing, running and analysing A/B tests and multi-armed bandits for measurable incremental liftConsiderable practical experience of common data science technical skills: coding in Python (required), SQL (required), AWS Sagemaker, GitHubStrong practical experience of cloud-based data processing: AWS (ideally) including ML services such as Sagemaker and wider technologies, SnowflakeStrong understanding of data architectures with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and different data modelling structuresFamiliar with agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS), prompt engineering, and responsible-AI best practices.Proven leadership of agile, cross-functional squads, mentoring data scientists, analysts and engineers.Clear communicator who translates model metrics into ROI-driven narratives.From a workplace to a place to belong.At TUI we embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, encouraging everyone to come as you are, because together, our potential is limitless.
