Instrumentation Engineer
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORWould you like to play a fundamental part in the delivery of Challenger 3, as well as other future programmes? We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation Engineer to join our busy Trials Engineering team.The successful candidate will initially work closely with the engineering Subject Matter Experts and the Trials Team to undertake trials planning, with the focus of defining and documenting instrumentation requirements. Ensuring the selected instruments meet all trials needs through a combination of interrogating product data sheets and bench testing equipment.As the programme matures this will lead into the physical conduct of trials, Instrumentation Engineers will install, manage, maintain and interrogate vehicle installed and standalone instrumentation. The successful candidate will be expected to gather data for performance and fault finding across a wide range of system development, qualification and reliability trials including: EMC, firing, sighting, human factors and mobility. Data monitoring will consist of; vehicle data buses such as CAN and Ethernet; as well as discrete sensors for physical measurements e.g. temperature, strain, acceleration.The role is based from our Telford site although the candidate should expect significant amounts of travel, to various locations around the UK and abroad; including both civilian and military test sites, as the CR3 programme progresses.
