up to £23,763.35 per annumAbout the Role

Plan appropriate, effective and inclusive learning programmes through schemes of work that promote equality and engage with diversityPlan teaching sessions which accommodate individualised learning using a variety of resources, including digital learning (lesson planning)Ensure all learning materials are available on the VLE for students to access and engage withApply the principles of learning to provide learning activities to meet curriculum requirements and the needs of all studentsSelect the relevant learning approaches and skill development to ensure students’ progressContribute to the provision of a stimulating learning environment whilst adhering to the Centres’ Health and Safety proceduresApply the theories and principles of assessment including initial, diagnostic, formative and summative assessmentUse a variety of methods to check learning in lessons (formative assessment)Ensure that interactive assessment activities are available to students through the VLEProvide regular and timely feedback to students to enable them to improve and achieve their qualificationsPrepare students for summative assessment whether for an exam, course work or assignments etc.Engage in moderation of assessment materials and student workMaintain up to date and accurate records of student attendance and progressRespond promptly and appropriately to lapses in student attendance, punctuality, behaviour and application to their studies by individual conversations with students, referrals to progress coaches or where appropriate, senior managementSupport students with individual target setting and revise these throughout the year during progress checksSupport student with action planning to improve academic performance and achieve aspirational targetsBe available to offer support to students as required (eg workshops, booster and revision classes)Support students to progress to the University by being proactive in liaising with University Schools and link tutorsContribute to student progress reports in a clear and constructive mannerStrive for and attain high levels of student achievementRefer students for learning support where appropriateTake responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students in your care. Refer to support services where appropriateContribute to effective communication with stakeholders (parents, sponsors, University etc.)Be aware of and comply with all Centre quality assurance processes such as observation of teaching and learning, audits of teaching and learning material (including VLE content) programme and module evaluation and subject team performance reviewsDemonstrate and update subject specialist knowledge to ensure the currency of specialist teachingConvey enthusiasm for personal specialist area to staff and studentsEngage in professional development to improve teaching and learning practice, and update subject specialist knowledgeUndertake reflection and self-evaluation of personal teaching practice and continuing professional developmentComply with expectations of professional conductUse student feedback to improve personal performanceWork as part of the Business Team to produce and develop an exciting curriculum for studentsBe prepared to operate on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the Business Team and the Centre as a wholeBe available to cover lessons for absent colleagues as requiredPrepare for and participate in appropriate Centre events (eg induction activity, enrichment, University school events, award ceremonies etc.)Promote a cohesive work ethic within the Business Team and the Centre as a wholeShare best practice and contribute to the Business Teams’ bank of effective resources/ideas/activities for Teaching and LearningParticipate in the development of the VLE and contribute subject knowledge for the development of materials for Law modulesParticipate in the development and application of digital learningAttend team and centre meetings in accordance with the Centre’s meeting scheduleOther related activities as may be reasonably requested by the Centre Director, Deputy Director for Curriculum and Progression, Head of Quality and Innovation or Head of DepartmentAbout You

Teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PCET or PGCE (working towards, or willingness to achieve)Qualified to Degree level or professional equivalent in a relevant subject area (Business and Finance)Desirable Postgraduate qualification in a related fieldSuccessful teaching, learning and assessment experience at level 3 and 4Thorough subject knowledge of Business Finance including related fields in Business Studies and MarketingExperience of teaching International StudentsExperience of supporting students in a pastoral roleExperience of delivering and developing learning and teaching through digital learning platformsAbout Us
