Team Manager- Mental Health
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Team Manager to join a Local Authority Mental Health Social Work Team. This is a pivotal leadership role within social services, responsible for overseeing the delivery of statutory duties and ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for adults with mental health needs. You will lead a team of social workers and practitioners, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and driving best practice across the service. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and management to a team within Adult Mental Health Social Services Oversee complex caseloads, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met Ensure compliance with key legislation including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding procedures Supervise, support, and appraise staff performance Manage team performance, service delivery, and resource allocation Lead on risk management, decision-making, and safeguarding interventions Work in partnership with external agencies, housing providers, and health professionals Contribute to service development and continuous improvement Essential Requirements: Registered with Social Work England (SWE) Proven experience as a Team Manager within Adult Social Care / Mental Health Services Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act) Demonstrable experience managing staff, performance, and complex cases Ability to lead under pressure and ..... full job details .....
