Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 6pm . This is a
fixed-term contract
from
October 2025 to July 2026 , in view to making this a permanent contract.Experience as a GP Practice Nurse and use of EMIS Web are essential.Main duties of the job
Clinical duties may include (but are not limited to):Managing patients health and carrying out basic observationsChild and adult immunisations, including baby vaccinesCervical smearsECGs, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and blood pressure checksWound care, dressings, removal of sutures/clips, and foot checksRoutine and travel vaccinations, routine injections, contraception, and health screeningAdvising patients on health promotion, diet, lifestyle, and minor ailmentsSupporting chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)Assisting with minor procedures and IUCD/IUS fittingsAdditional responsibilities include:Acting as Infection Control Lead and supporting safe clinical practiceDeveloping and maintaining practice policies and protocols in collaboration with the Practice ManagerAccurate record-keeping and clinical documentation on EMIS WebStock management, equipment maintenance, and vaccine storageContributing to audits, quality improvement projects, and practice meetingsWhat were looking for:A qualified and experienced Practice Nurse with current NMC registrationPrevious experience in a GP practice, with EMIS Web competenceConfidence in managing a wide range of clinical tasks independentlyA proactive team player who is flexible, organised, and committed to high-quality patient careAbout us
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will provide a full range of nursing services within the practice, working closely with GPs, the wider clinical team, and administrative staff. You will
have the opportunity to upskill and further train in spirometry and other innovative procedures

- Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in a GP surgery- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team- Organised, reliable, and flexible approach to work- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Commitment to high-quality, safe, and patient-centred care- Awareness of local and national health priorities (e.g. NHS Long Term Plan, vaccination programmes)- Understanding of population health management and health inequalities- Leadership or supervisory experience within a nursing team- Proactive in developing new services or suggesting improvements- Adaptability to new technology and digital tools- Enthusiasm for innovation and supporting practice growthDisclosure and Barring Service Check
